How to know if you have a blocked single drain?
March 4, 2021Toilet overflow / clogged toilet
May 18, 2021If you believe that you are experiencing low water pressure, it may be due to clogged pipes. However, you can check yourself for simpler things that could be the cause before calling a plumber.
1. First, you want to do is check your valves, having a partially open valve could be restricting your water pressure throughout your whole house. Open the valves completely in order to check them.
2. Second, you would need to do is get a water pressure reading by either calling your city and having them come out and check it for you or by purchasing a pressure gauge.
3. Hook up the pressure gauge to an outside water spigot, turn the water on, and get the instant reading.
4. An ideal reading is 40 to 75 PSI (pounds per square inch). If you are receiving a reading out of those ranges, then one cause may be due to the water pressure reducing valve and it needs to be adjusted correctly. If it is adjusted to restrict water too much, then it needs to be readjusted -How to adjust water pressure reducing valve- On the other hand, if it is too old, then it needs to be replaced.
